Abby's 2nd Birthday!!

Abby is already two!! Time does fly by with your kids! We had originally planned to have Abby's party on the 23rd of July but we had to move it to the 31st due to Abby having mono. We had to allow her to rest which was very hard to do and stressful at times. We go back to the doctor in October to make sure that her body made antibodies against the mono. Please pray that her body is doing what it is suppose to do!

We have changed a little to how we do parties. We eat our meal, then open presents, then blow out candles, then serve cake and ice cream. It works great!! So here is Abby opening her gift from Mommy and Daddy which is a my first dollhouse. She loves it!!

Just Having Fun Swimming

We have tried to keep up Lillian's swimming this summer at my sister Mia's house. The girls love going there to swim. With the temperature being so hot, the water felt like bath water.
Abby is getting to where she jumps off the steps. She is beginning to come alive in the pool. Hopefully next year I will put her in swimming lessons.
I still am so proud of Lillian being able to swim without floaties! I think it is pretty neat of how I was able to catch her in mid air! She is flying!!
We finally got them a pool for our backyard. I have just decided that this pool is too little for the both of them. Wonder if I can talk Chris into getting a bigger pool???? Probably not......he would just say, "Go to your sister's!"

Fourth of July

Well, I know this is kind of late but we did have a great fourth! The girls both spent the night with Aunt Rob on that Sunday night so Chris and I got to enjoy some time to ourselves. We met Chan and Marla at the Japanese Steakhouse place and then rented a movie for the first time from a Red Box machine. That was pretty neat! We only paid $1.50 for a blue ray movie for one night. We will most definitely be renting more movies that way!!

After spending time at the camper on the fourth at Mt. Rozell, we came home to take some good naps and then headed to Paw Paw and Maw Maw to watch the fireworks.

Playing is Sooo Much Fun!!

The girls have had so much fun playing this summer. Yes, they have had their bad days where they didn't share very well but overall they enjoyed being at home with Mommy. Here are just a few things that they enjoyed doing at home.

Swimming Lessons

One week in June, Lillian took swimming lessons from Mary Beth Young. She was able to have lessons with Katie Lee and Allie Lovell. I think they all did a great job!

Father's Day 2011

Father's day is always another busy holiday for us now. My two girls loved giving their daddy his cards. His gift was ordered and on its way but didn't make it before the big day. He got two pairs of dress crocs. So he is stylin now with his shoes!!

We really enjoyed going back to the beach with Chan, Marla, and Allie!! We were so much more prepared this time with the girls. Sorry that Donnie and Leanne had to put up with my fussy girls on the first trip. But they were tons better on this trip!! It worked really good with not giving Abby a nap during the day. Since Chan was on business we literally hung out at the condo which was sooo nice. Not having to get ready and then get the girls ready was very nice. With kids it is just as easy to fix something at the condo when they are as little as ours than to get dressed, wait an hour or longer to eat and then the kids don't eat half of what you order. I hated that Chan didn't get to spend much time with us on the beach but we sure did love keeping Marla and Allie company! Looking forward to next year's beach trip already!!

While we were on our trip in Orange Beach, Paw Paw and Maw Maw got a new vehicle. Lillian and Abby couldn't wait to ride in it! They are all smiles as they are about to ride for the first time!
They love to play mommy and baby! That seems to be the only time right now that they actually play nice with each other. Lillian is the mommy and Abby is the baby. Lillian wouldn't have it any other way! And yes, Abby has a pacey in her mouth. Lillian says that she has to have one if she is the baby.
Abby maybe rough but she is the most lovable child. She loves on Lillian all the time. It is so sweet to hear her say, "I love you, Lillian!" I hope they will always be close.

Before we left for the beach I wanted to get a pedicure. So I decided that Lillian could have one done too. She was a little scared but once we sat down in the chairs she was just fine. They fixed us right up even with flowers on our big toes.

Memorial Day 2011

We had a great Memorial day!! Playing in the creek was definitely the highlight of the day! It was sooo hot! Tammy's camper didn't have any air because it was broken so all we had was floor fans outside. We have decided that for the 4th we are going to have our camp at the creek. We already knew of a way to get my momma out there (by four wheeler). Always love spending time with my family!!

Daddy found these bees in one of the trees in his yard. It is amazing of how they didn't swam Daddy while he was cutting the yard because he got so close mowing. He didn't see it until he was using the weed eater. Don Berzett came and got the hive. Chris and Lillian went up there to see him retrieve the bees.

Can't believe that I have a preschooler in my house!!! My big baby girl is growing up fast!! This picture was taken before we left for school. Sadly, I didn't take any pictures while we were there!! Hope to take some on her first day!! She is super excited about the Little Red School House!! She will be there with her cousins Madigyn, Landyn, Ella and another friend Alivia. She can't wait. But one thing though that she is looking forward to is when she gets to ride with me everyday to school at Blue Springs! That will come soon enough.

Field Day and Alabama Adventure

This was our first field day at Blue Springs Elementary!! It was so fun for the kids!!! Hope to be able to bring Lillian next year. We had tons on inflatables and food!! Thanks to our awesome P.E. coaches for organizing it!!

Here is a mega slide that a coworker and I raced down the slide to see who could get to the bottom first. It was fun! I had one of my kids to take a picture of me coming down it but all they got was my big behind and I figured no one would want to see that picture!!

Since our kids are sort of graduating elementary school, we decided to try and go to Alabama Adventure as one of our field trips. It was awesome!! That is definitely going to become a 5th grade field trip from now on!!

I got to ride all of the coasters that they had and each time I got ready to load the coaster my heart would be beating so hard. I was hoarse by the time we left from screaming. My class said that the trip was a great way to end the school year. Can't wait for next year!!

Mother's Day 2011

I had a wonderful Mother's Day. My girls had cards for me along with a gift certificate for me to go shopping for myself for once. I am usually shopping for the girls that I rarely ever shop for myself anymore so that was going to be a treat.

That night we headed to Jones Road for church and then to my sister Tammy's house. We had a delicious meal of course. This horse in the picture is a big hit for my girls. They love to ride it. Abby kept wanting to go round and around on it.

Easter Egg Hunt and Easter 2011

A Gender Party!!

This is the first gender party that I have been to ever. We all got to wear either pink or blue to show what we thought Baby Aderholt was going to be. I chose pink because it would be neat to have another play buddy for my girls in the family. In the first pic, Lane is reading names that everyone thought that they should name the baby. Some were sooo funny!!

At the doctor's office, Lane had the nurse to put what the gender was in an envelope. She took it to a girl that she went to school with and she made the cake. Whatever the color was on the inside would be the gender of the baby. So here goes.

The baby girl does have a name. She will be named Vera Lane!!! The name Vera was my grandmother's name. Grandmother would have been proud to have a great-great grandchild name after her.

Last night I had the girls to try on their dresses for Laura Leigh's wedding. They were acting so silly. I haven't made up my mind if I want them to wear these for Easter or not. I prefer smocked dresses but these are simple but dressy. You can't tell from the pictures but they do have their initials on the dress.

Boy, this nice weather has just made me want spring to hurry up and stay!! We are definitely outside people. The girls have been wanting to get the vehicles outside to ride. It is so funny to watch Abby. She does not use the steering wheel but boy, can she push that pedal. She just winds up going around in a circle because she doesn't steer. Lillian, on the other hand, can drive a car! Summer is going to be fun!!

Chris and I don't do very much for each other for Valentine's Day other than go out to eat but we buy for the girls. Lillian was really disappointed when she didn't get a ladybug pillow for Christmas. She was thrilled when she saw what she got from us!! Since the bedroom is ladybugs I also got Abby one too. Both of them sleep on them every night so I think that our choice for a gift was perfect!!

Marla has always had my girls something for Valentine's day so this was our first year to get Allie something. The girls could not wait to get to Chan and Marla's house. We would not let them open the gifts until after we ate supper. Then Lillian began begging to open the gifts. You would have thought that Lillian had just won the lottery. She kept telling Marla, "Thank you! Thank you!" for the gifts. She also kept saying, "Wow, this is wonderful!" Marla got them a ladybug purse with stickers, candy, and girly things. Abby wanted to get straight into the candy.

Last month we attended Allie Lovell's birthday party at the Onyx Gym. Lillian really had a fun time. We even got some information before we left about gymnastics because Lillian is interested in that right now. We might begin classes next school year. We hope that Allie had a fabulous birthday!!

Not a whole lot of anything going on around here. Only one thing that I am happy with right now. We have finally made the switch from baby bed and toddler bed to a full size bed!! This past Saturday night was the first time that the girls slept in it. I am still not finished with decorating the room but I believe that it is going to look great when finished. They seem to be adjusting to it very well. As you can see in the picture Abby loves being close to her big sis!!

I will post pics of the finished bedroom when it is completed which I hope will be by the end of February.

We got an idea to use the plastic pool as a sled! Mark split it right in half on the first pull but we used it for a little while. Well, we got two good years out of the pool!! We will be buying another one at the beginning of summer.

Whew!! We stayed out from 11:00 to 3:30 and Lillian cried not wanting to come in then. Abby, on the other hand, stayed out for about an hour and a half and then went down for a nap with Paw Paw. No school again tomorrow!! It's great having family and friends that live nearby!! We had a great time!

Laura Leigh my niece is getting married!!! She got a diamond for Christmas! She is marrying Eric Prater from Decatur. We are so happy for both of them!!

The set date is March 26th. My girls will be flower girls again!! This time Abby will be able to walk but I don't know if she will actually walk down the aisle or not. Maybe she will follow Lillian and do just fine. Can't wait to start looking for dress!!!

Christmas Day Night at Mimi's!

We decided to go ahead and have Christmas at Mimi's because the roads looked like they were in good shape. It was very pretty driving along being able to see snow everywhere. This is my last post of Christmas activities. We had a very good Christmas and next Christmas will roll around before you know it.

Today is Chris's 40th birthday!! Can't believe that he has hit the 40 stage! Thank goodness that I have a while before that happens to me!! We got away with Chan and Marla this past Thursday. We went to Nashville and ate at the Cheesecake Factory. We had so much fun!! Fun day of eating and laughing!!

Christmas Eve at Paw Paw and Maw Maw's House

We headed to my mom's on Christmas Eve night for a wonderful supper and lots of presents. My girls got too much!! I am really going to have to clean out rooms just to put the new toys!!

I gave momma Lillian's hand and footprints when she was little so I needed to do Abby's. I think Abby's hands and feet turned out really good.

When we got home we needed to make some cookies for Santa. We left him chocolate chip cookies with chocolate filling. I think they were a hit!
We have been discussing moving the girls into one room. Well, the time has come. We don't have a bed frame yet or the full size mattress. So we have been putting both baby mattresses in the floor and so far they have been great together. This is the first night that we did this...........some sacked out little girls. Lillian even wanted her door shut so that Santa could come and they wouldn't hear him.

For Lillian's birthday, Aunt Rob took Lillian to get her ears pierced. She was a very big girl! She wanted to cry so bad when the ladies clicked them but she didn't shed a tear!! She is so proud of them. So far we have had no trouble out of them. Here is a before pic.

A Snow White Party!!

Last Saturday Lillian had a Snow White Party at Laney's Salon. My niece Lane usually has princess parties that she does but I only used her room since I am family. It looked like all the girls had fun. Thanks for the great gifts!!
Mrs. Sam who is Lillian and Abby's babysitter made the cake. Of course, it looked good and it tasted soooo good!!

Today is Lillian's birthday!! Can't believe that four years have past this quickly!! Oh, how I vividly remember her grand entrance into our lives!! We drove 10 hours home and then drove 10 hours back on the same day!!! Boy, I never knew that I could stay up for almost 24 hours!! The first Sunday night in December we have been getting together with Rosemary, Eddie, Jackie, Colby, Jon, Kenneith, Jake, Mark, Robin, Anna, Will and Heidi for several years now. Each year we have a theme and a different person is to host it at their house. Well, this year was my year to host it. Our theme was the Polar Express. We always have a reading of the theme's book and of course getting to eat some good food.

Breakfast with Santa

Blue Springs Elementary had its first Breakfast with Santa this year. Lillian and Abby both enjoyed it. Last year Lillian would not sit in Santa's lap but this year she had no trouble. Abby, on the other hand, did not cry when I put her in his lap but she sure did not want to smile. This is almost like the one that I used in my Christmas cards.
We had a very pretty tree that was located in the front office that I wanted to get the girls pics in front of just in case the Santa picture didn't turn out. Lillian has this thing about raising her chin in pictures now...........why I do not know!! I had said that Abby would catch Lillian by Christmas and she got really close. Now I am thinking this summer they will be the same height!

Christmas Parade 2010

We had a great time at the Christmas Parade this year. This was a big year for Lillian. She was so excited about the bands and cheerleaders. To pass the time I packed Barney to watch. Boy, was that the best decision! They were so good waiting on the parade because we always get our parking spot by 4:30 and the parade doesn't usually get to us until 6:30.

Thanksgiving 2010

We started out with Thanksgiving at my mom's on Thanksgiving night. Of course we had a fantastic meal!! I just had to get Lillian and Abby these shirts because it fits them just right! We are thankful for both of them!!

Then after the bad loss to Auburn we headed to Chris' mom's house. I did not take any pictures here because Abby had started running fever and wanted me to hold her a lot that night. And of course again we had a wonderful meal! I am so thankful that my mom and Chris's mom can cook such great food!! My rear end is where all that wonderful food is right now........I might have to be on a diet after the new year!! Next up, Christmas parade.

I know.........I know!! I haven't been blogging lately. We have been on the go so much that I am just exhausted that I just check Facebook and then head to bed. But I hope to catch up this week. Before Thanksgiving our 5th grade went on a field trip to Nashville to see Mega Mind 3D and then to see ICE. We have a lot of fun except for our bus driver. He was the lead bus and got lost three times. Luckily we were only just 30 minutes off of our schedule. Hope you enjoy the pics!!

This Halloween was just right for Abby! She loved it!! She wouldn't let anyone have her pumpkin that carried all of her goodies. She enjoyed being able to put her goodies in her pumpkin. On a side note, she almost didn't get to go. She woke up around 11:30 p.m. Friday night throwing up! She threw up probably 6 times and finally stopped around 4:00 a.m. that Saturday morning. She was fine the rest of the day so maybe it was something that didn't set well with her stomach. Here is the picture before we started our night.

Pumpkin Carving and Fall Festival

Wow, what a week!! It just seems like weeks are flying by so fast and before you know it Christmas will be here. On a different note, Abby went to the doctor yesterday for her check-up and some nasty shots. She is in the 100 percentile in height!! It won't be long before she is catches up with Lillian.

Blue Springs had its first fall festival this past week. Each grade level had different things. 5th grade had jail (which made our most money) and then cake walk. We had so many things that looked so good. I had asked Mrs. Sam to donate a cake. Well, she really out did herself!! She made this jack-o-lantern cupcake!! It smelled soooo good! My co-worker's mom won it. I was hoping that I could just keep it for myself! LOL!!

I didn't get to do a whole lot of things with Lillian because I had to work the booths. But I did get to do some things with her. While she was riding with Mommy on the train, she was enjoying a red snow cone.

5th grade had a contest to raise some more money. The teacher with the most money would get a pie in the face. Thank goodness that was not me!!!! Poor Mrs. Anderson...........she got the pie in the face. Kaleb was getting ready to pie her! Mrs. Anderson was just ready for it to be over!!

All in all we had a great turnout and raised a lot of money for our school. I was dragging the next day because I was at work from 7:20a.m. till 8:30p.m. that night. I felt like I had just spent the night at school. Lillian was so worried that I was going to be the one with the pie in the face.......so glad that I wasn't the one!

The next night Lillian and Abby went to the A.B.S. fall festival. Of course, they had a ball with Aunt Rob. Chris and I had a little date night. Part of our time was spent at the funeral home and then it was off to eat.

Sunday night after church we had the best scavenger hunt with our friends from church. It was so much fun!! A big high five goes out to Brooke and Alicia for getting it together!! Can't wait for next year's fun!!

Pumpkin Patch!

Last Saturday Leanne and I took Lillian and Katie Lee to the pumpkin patch in Tenn. They had a ball even though it was so hot........too hot for the month of October!!! I decided to leave Abby at home this year because she would be too little to enjoy things. I am so glad that I didn't take her because she doesn't do to well in hot weather. Next year she will be just the right age. Anyway, this was Lillian's first time to the pumpkin patch and she was so excited!!

Fiddler's Convention 2010

This was Abby's first Fiddler's Convention. She was too little last year to get her out in the nighttime air. I believe she enjoyed herself. We always enjoy the Fiddler's. This year was a little different since Chris is working for Athens State now. He had to work both nights so that meant that I was on my own with the girls. But not totally because I had enough family there to help out. We look forward to next year!

I know, I know.............I am a little behind on posting. Trying to catch up but with the nine weeks ending I have an endless stack of papers to grade so that I can enter them into the computer. I love these outfits! Debra Cook made these dresses. She has her own business "Skybugs." Lillian enjoyed modeling for the camera. Abby, on the other hand, just looks at the camera with no expression.

Seems like these days we are all about cheering. Aside from that..........this was Abby's first ever pep rally! She was too small last year to be able to go. She was a little scared at first but really got into the music. I think she is really going to enjoy music just like Lillian.

Can you believe that Chris and I have been married for 15 years???? This really makes me feel old! We had a great night together without the kiddos. We went to eat at Cheddars and then for some shopping! We have always had to wait forever at Cheddars but can you believe at 6:50 we walked right in and right to a table! I guarantee that we won't be able to get that lucky ever again. Guinn and Tammy kept the girls and of course they had a fabulous time. Both of them were sacked out on the way home. Chris and I hope and pray that we will have many more years to come. We have been so blessed!!

Labor Day and Football Friday

Labor Day weekend went by so fast. But I sure did enjoy my time off and now I am counting down to the next holiday which will be fall break. On Monday we headed to Mt. Rozell to eat and then to the creek. The creek had a little more excitement than usual. Daddy took us to a different place. It was called Slippery Rock. I know why they call it that now.........I fell in the water!!! I just scraped my leg but my camera was soaked!! I let the sun dry it out and then Lane told me to put it in a zip lock bag with rice and it would dry the moisture out. It worked!!! I am so glad that I didn't have to buy a new camera but needless to say I didn't get to take anymore pictures after the creek. I was the lucky one that only fell one time.........Mark fell three times!!!!

Abby didn't go to the creek this time but by next year she should be able to go and enjoy. She stayed at the camper with Aunt Rob and tried to take a nap.

Abby is starting to try to wear high heels and she sometimes gets mad at them because they make her fall down especially in our kitchen. She almost looks like she is in pain but she just got herself up after falling in the floor hard.

This week seems to be a busy week with our anniversary of 15 years. I keep saying this but where does the time go..............really makes me feel old!!!! Hope everyone has a great week!

Cheer Camp

Yesterday Lillian attended Clements' Cheer Camp. She absolutely loved it!! I dropped her off at 9:00 and then came back at 12:30 just to check on her because it lasted until 2:00. Lillian was the youngest one there because it was just really for K-5 girls. Lillian got special permission to come which thrilled her to death. She thought that she was as big as some of the other girls. Even though she doesn't have the moves down pat to the two cheers or the dance routine, Lillian loved spending the day with her buddy Kaitlyn which is one of the varsity cheerleaders and whose mom I work with in the same grade level.
Lillian will get to perform before the ballgame Friday night. When their name is called out they are suppose to do a jump. Lillian tells me that she is doing a toe touch. I caught her doing her jump when her name was called. It just cracks me up!!!

Every day that she comes in the house she goes straight to the basket to get this book for Chris to read. It is a touch and feel book about "Who Do You Love". It's funny how they have their favorite book even when they are this little.

Lots have been going on here! I got sick last Thursday morning with the stomach virus that lasted until Friday night so I had to get a sub for my class. I have one student that goes off whenever he has a sub and Thursday was no different. He had to spend the second half of the day in the assistant principal's office. Friday was a little better for him. I am glad that the virus passed quickly and didn't linger any longer! On Saturday I had to do some shopping for my daddy's birthday and when I got in from shopping this rainbow was in the sky. It was so pretty!!
Then we headed to Chan and Marla's for some great supper!! Abby just about tore Marla's house down...............she broke a dish by sitting on it! Abby is in to lots more than Lillian ever was.........cabinets, drawers, and even commodes!!

Sunday night we headed to Jones' Road to go to church with Aunt Tammy and then to her house for a great meal for my daddy's birthday. Daddy turned 74!! My girls absolutely love their Paw Paw!! Hope that my daddy has many more birthdays to come!!

Last night we took Abby to her first football game at Clements. She did really good until halftime. She was ready to leave!!! Lillian, on the other hand, had a fabulous time. She cheered the whole time. I hope that we can find some tickets to be able to take her to her first Alabama game!! I didn't get any pictures of Abby at the game because I was having to wrestle with her but did manage to get one before we left for the game.

Abby didn't take a nap until we left Aunt Mia's. She went to sleep as soon as I put her in the car seat. Lillian wanted some McDonald french fries and chocolate milk so I went through the drive- thru. When I stopped at the red light at Market Street and Hines Street this is the sight that I got of Lillian. Her hand was still in the bag!! How funny!!

Both took a very long nap and now they are very hungry so I better go and feed them. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

A Great Deal of Catching Up To Do!!

Wow!! Summer just flew by and now that I am back at work I don't have as much time to blog. So I am going to try and get caught up. On Friday, July 30th I took Abby to Laney's Salon for Lane to cut Abby's hair for the first time!! The back was starting to look crazy so I thought it was time for a cut. Abby did an awesome job of letting Lane cut her hair!!

On August 2nd Abby had her year old check-up along with two shots. She did a lot better this time with the shots than the last time. Lillian keeps asking me if she is going to have to have shots when she goes back to the doctor. I keep telling her yes and she keeps telling me that she is going to be brave when she gets the shots. So when December rolls around we will see. Anyway after Abby's great check-up we did a little shopping. Abby loves the carts in Kohl's......I think because she can see everything better.

On my last day of summer vacation, Leanne and I took the kiddos back to Point Mallard. This time I left Abby with the sitter so that I could take up more time with Lillian. She had a blast riding the waves on a float that she almost went to sleep. I guess the movement along with her having her head on my shoulder made her sleepy. It was sooooo hot that you had to stay in some water to keep cool.

Tuesday we decided to take the girls to Point Mallard. They have a great splash area for small kids. The weather was just perfect! We hope to take them back next week before we go back to work.

I couldn't get Abby to look up because the sun was too bright. She did really good to be one and seemed to enjoy the water but I may leave her behind next time so that I can help Lillian ride the waves in with a float. I remember doing that when I used to go and it was so much fun.

Lillian told me that she had a blast and couldn't wait to go again. Well, my classroom is coming along pretty well. Leanne came Monday to help me out with decorating and she was a big help. Thanks again for the help!! More work to continue tomorrow.

She weighs over 8 pounds now and loves to be talked to when she is awake. She just doesn't know what my two has in store for her later!! I hate that we had to miss Kynsley's and Anna Beth's birthday party. Lillian was running fever which I think was from her ear but since we didn't know exactly we decided she didn't need to go. She cried because she wanted to go so bad. I felt bad for her but she is feeling better and is fever free. We hope that they had a great party. Happy Birthday Kynsley and Anna Beth!!

Abby's First Birthday Party!!

Saturday night we celebrated with family for Abby's first birthday. We had it at the house hoping that we could have it outside. Well, it rained for a short time which in turn made the grass wet. We were able to eat outside on the patio but we couldn't let the kids play in the grass. So we ended up in the house for gifts, cake and ice cream. I have a good size living room but when it comes to having family it is nowhere near being big enough to hold all of us. All in all it was a great party!!

Chan and Marla were so nice to bring a present for Lillian so that she wouldn't feel left out. It was a "Hello Kitty" cup and some lip gloss.

We already have a magnetic ABC Leap Frog game that Abby loves to drag off the refrigerator and now this game is a big hit that was from Mommy and Daddy.

Another big hit from Mommy and Daddy!! This was used on our Destin trip and was a life saver even though we had to listen to Barney for ever!! Ear phones will be a must on the next trip!!

Abby is growing so fast and seems like she is not going to be little for long. She is walking everywhere and can put the food away!! I know that I can't say this enough but God has blessed us with two precious girls. Hope everyone is having a great week!! More birthday fun coming this weekend for Aunt Rob, Kynsley and Anna Beth!!

I am so excited about moving into my new classroom at Blue Springs Elementary!! Before school was out I took some pictures of my room with all of my boxes. The only thing that I don't look forward to is starting back to school. I have enjoyed my summer at home with my girls. Getting to sleep in and lounge around with them until lunch and going here and there with them has been great!! Well, next week that will come to a halt. They will go back to Mrs. Sam's so that I can finish unpacking and decorate for the start of school. I hope to have everything done next week so that I can enjoy my last full week of summer.

Destin 2010

The beach was great!! Thanks to Daddy and Momma for taking us!! We left out Monday morning and when we got there this is the sight that we saw from our condo. Clean-up crews waiting on the charter bus to come and pick them up. They all worked very hard because we never saw the first drop of oil on the beach nor in the ocean.

Before we went to eat that night daddy and I took the girls down to the beach for a little while. It was starting to blow up a rain. Abby loved it!! She wanted so bad to get in the ocean.

Since I got burnt on Wednesday, I decided to take them to the indoor pool instead of the outside one. It was packed in both pools but the girls had a ball anyway. Lillian made several friends while she was swimming. She will not have any trouble adjusting to school when that rolls around for her.

Since I was little I have always loved airbrushed shirts. Some people may not care about them but I think they are cute on little ones. Lillian picked her shirt out and of course her pick was flip flop shoes. I picked the beach ball out for Abby since that was also Lillian's first beach shirt.

We really enjoyed our trip and would love to go back with Chris! Thursday night before we left the next morning Abby starting walking meaning taking more than two steps. Now she is walking everywhere. This Saturday will be Abby's party. Hard to believe that she will be one!!

Fourth of July

We didn't have a whole lot going on for the fourth this year since we were getting ready to leave for Destin. The girls had their yearly tradition of spending the night with Aunt Rob and attending the Stinnett get together at Mt. Rozell. We had a very relaxing fourth which was kind of nice. I was able to find the girls matching dresses for the fourth. I really like them and hope that we will get much wear out of them.

Beach Time!!

I hope to have pictures from the beach when we get back. We are having a great time and today the weather is wonderful!! It has been hard with two kids without Chris. The rest of my family is helping but I miss Chris's help. This trip has really made me realize how much Chris helps me. He is a great daddy! Lillian said to me last night, "I miss Daddy. I wish he was here." I hate that he is having to miss this trip but he is in the middle of changing jobs. Friday is his last day with Athens City schools and Monday will be his first day with Athens State. We are so excited!! Well, I am about to take Lillian to the pool while Abby takes a nap. Hope everyone is having a great day!!

Friday night we celebrated my sister's 25th wedding anniversary at Grill 29. We are so happy that they have made it to this milestone!! Only 10 more years until Chris and I celebrate our 25th!! Hard to believe that!!

Abby is learning how to climb up into things. I found her in Lillian's room climbing up into the chair with Raggedy Ann and then she tried to stand up in the chair. I can feel a major fall coming on soon.

Abby is becoming quite a character!! She is letting go and standing on her own but will not take any steps. She sits down and begins crawling again. It is funny to see her get into Lillian's toys. Lillian comes running for whatever she has and Abby takes off crawling as fast as she can. And then it is a wrestling match to get whatever Abby has in her hands. Hope that one day they will share nicely!

Lake Winnie and Friends!!

We had a fabulous time at Lake Winnie on Saturday!! We didn't want to get up early that morning to drive so we headed to Chattanooga on Friday night. Lillian was so excited!! Donnie, Leanne, and Katie Lee decided to head on too that night. So while we waited for them to get to the hotel, Lillian took a splash in the heated swimming pool.
After Katie Lee arrived, the hotel room was full of giggles and jumping on the beds.

These two did pretty well waiting their turn for each ride. They couldn't wait to get on to ride!!

This ride was the ride that both of them kept talking about......the Bumble Bee!! Only to be little again!!

Lillian loves Volkswagen bugs (why I do not know) and here she is getting to drive one.

Lillian is going to be just like her mommy when it comes to riding a roller coaster. She absolutely loved this ride. She kept telling me that made her stomach tickle.

These were two tired little girls. Lillian did not want her picture taken. I believe the heat had drained her smile.

All tuckered out!

Lillian slept the whole ride home. On the other hand, Abby was thrilled to see us! She had stayed with Paw Paw and Maw Maw and with Aunt Rob. We would like to go back but when it is a little cooler. One last thing about the trip. The Cannon Ball roller coaster was not working all day but right before we were getting ready to leave it opened up. So to close out the trip Leanne and I rode the coaster. I am so much like a kid when it comes to rides. I would recommend Lake Winnie to everyone!!

Father's Day Weekend 2010

Well, we were not able to attend the last two days of swimming lessons due to running fever and ears hurting. We have been putting drops in her ears and that has helped. Now we are going to try the chiropractor before we have to make a trip to the doctor. Lillian had a very good time with swimming lessons and we look forward to them next year. I would recommend Mary Beth Young. She is an elementary teacher at Brookhill and does really well with the children. She charged us $60.oo for an hour. On Thursday Lillian was jumping off into the deep in from the side of the pool and then from the diving board. Now she will need to practice those skills at my sister Mia's house at least once a week if not two days.
Saturday night we went to Lowe's for Chris to check out the pressure washers for Father's day. These two always have fun in the buggies where they can drive a car.

Laura Leigh sent me a catalog of Mary Kay make-up through mail and Lillian has taken over it. She looks at it very often and even made the comment about that she was going to sell make-up one day and that she needed to go and make a business call (she has heard my sister Tammy say that a lot due to them having their own business). Sunday afternoon this is the sight that I caught her in while looking at the make-up magazine.

Of course the day wouldn't be complete without posing with Daddy on Father's day.

I had my family over that night after church. I didn't take any pictures because we were too busy planning our trip to Destin in July. We decided that we would go whether they had oil or no oil. There are plenty of other things to do in Destin that doesn't involve the beach. Hope that everyone had a great weekend.

Busy Summer!

We had a very busy weekend and now we are going to have a very busy week. I just had to share this picture because it is so funny. You never know what position you might find Lillian asleep in!!
Friday night we took supper to Chan and Marla's house. Lillian kept asking when was Friday going to get here so that she could see Allie but her plans changed. She went with Aunt Rob to see cousin Natalie's dance recital so it was a little quiet at the Hinkle household. Abby was creating a little noise but not as loud as Lillian would have been. Allie has had a high count of jaundice and she needs to be put under a lamp. I took my flash off so that you could see the lamp. As of Saturday her count was down. Maybe she won't have to be on the lamp very long.

Saturday was Emily Smith's big wedding day! It was so gorgeous especially the cakes at the reception. We hope that Emily and Keith will have a wonderful life together!!

Today was Lillian's first day of swimming lessons. I really didn't know what to expect. Believe it or not she actually did very well. She could not though sit still on the steps. It was like she had ants in her pants. We are really going to have to practice on what Mrs. Mary Beth told us to do.
