Playing with Sarah

Sunday we went to church at Gooch Lane with Brain, Dawn, and Sarah Barlow. After church we went to Applebee's to eat and then back to their house for the girls to play. Lillian had so much fun playing with all of Sarah's toys and they played great together. For those that do not know we are on the adoption waiting list again with Christian Family Services and hopefully Brian and Dawn will be on that waiting list with CFS also. We always said from the beginning that we would put our paperwork back in when Lillian turned 1 1/2 years old. Well, we stayed true to that and was active on Oct. 12th. We haven't heard anything yet but we still keep praying that God will know when the time is right. Lillian already says that she wants a brother and a sister and that she has to pray to God for them. We are very excited to add another one to the family and we understand that our lives are really, really going to change with two or three. Adoption is a very beautiful thing. Sarah and Lillian are so blessed beyond measure from the result of adoption. Thanks Brian, Dawn, and Sarah for the fun night!

Here are the girls playing with the horse that acts like a real horse!

Big Girl Bed!

We have been debating for some time on when we should convert her baby bed into her toddler bed. Well, Saturday was the day. It was kind of sad because she is growing up too fast. We have been trying to get her to go to bed on her own. We have made the transition from having to be rocked to lying on the couch and going to sleep and then we would put her in her bed. Now we are trying to get her to lay in her bed and try to go to sleep. We were worried about her falling off the bed but we have put body pillows in the floor. She fell off the first night but was okay due to the pillows being there. Lillian was very excited when she saw her big girl bed and immediately wanted to get on the bed and lay down. We thought great she might actually go to bed on her on. Not a chance with that right now. Work in progress. She still wants Mommy to lay down with her so I lay in the floor until she goes off to sleep. Here is a picture of her big girl bed.

She looks like she is sleeping so good!

Recent Ballgame Fun!

We recently attended a West/Clements ballgame to see Lillian's buddy Jordan play ball. She had a ball and didn't want to leave to go home. Before the ballgame we went by to see Sandy Bass' little cottage that she has behind her house. Sandy and Dwight did a fantastic job on the cottage. Lillian got to play with Sandy and Dwight's granddaughter's toys. She loved playing so much that she didn't want to leave. Sandy gave her a goodnight Barney to take with her and Dwight gave her a wood carved whale with wheels on it that he had made. Thanks Sandy and Dwight again for the toys! Then we all headed to the ballgame to watch Jordan play ball.

Here is Jordan and Lillian!

Lillian managed to get some pom poms and she was cheering "Go Colts!"

Lillian found her some bracelets and had a ball with them. She is definitely a girly girl.

And of course, who could go to a ballgame without having some popcorn! Yum!

Award!!

Sorry that it has taken me so long to blog again. We have been on the go so much and late when we get in that I just want to go to bed. Thanks Amber and Dana for the award! So now I must list my 5 addictions.

1. Bidding on ebay. I love bidding for things on ebay especially when it comes to things for Lillian. I see so many cute outfits and Chris sometimes has to put his foot down or I would just spend like crazy on her. Girls are so much fun to dress!

2. Eating out. I would rather eat out than cook! That is probably why I am so big. I am hopefully going to start my Weight Watchers Diet on my own Monday. Wish me luck!

3. Diet Sundrop. I love it!!! What else can I say about a good, cold diet sundrop? LOL

4. Looking at blogs. I love keeping up with everyone. Like Amber, I check everyday to see if anyone has posted anything new.

5. Chocolate! I could eat some kind of chocolate with peanuts in it all day. Again that will have to stop a little when the big diet rolls around.

Here is a list of nominees:

Angela
Dana C.

Happy 38th Birthday Chris!

Yesterday was Chris' birthday and he turned 38. He is getting old! Anyway we celebrated at our house with Chan and Marla with a home cooked meal and a chocolate chip cookie cake with ice cream. It would have been an even better birthday had Alabama shown up to play to win. As for his gifts, he will be trying on his present to make sure of the size. He wanted some Carhartt jeans and he has to be there to try them on. We will make the trip to Gray and Holt later today. Here are some pics of his cookie.

New Year's Eve

Well we started off the day with a visit to Dr. Hall who is a chiropractor. We are taking Lillian since she has frequent ear infections. Our first visit was Monday the day before our 2 year old check-up. She did much better than we expected. She laid on the table just so still for him to do the pressure points behind her ears. We were excited to hear the next day that she had clear ears. Dr. Hall wanted to recheck her to see if her alignment was still holding. Here is a picture of her waiting to see Dr. Hall.

Then we head to Laney's for a trim. Aunt Tammy was there to visit and to watch Lillian get a trim. The first time we trimmed her hair was Christmas Eve of 2007 in the middle of my mother's living room for all of my family to watch. Since then we have had at least two more trims to keep her hair looking the same length. I could not believe that she sat so still for Lane to cut it.

Lillian is enjoying one of Lane's suckers!

Here is the trim. She looks so big just sitting there!

After that we headed home for a nap and then to get ready for church and then for Chan and Marla's house for a fun night of food and games. Lillian was able to play with Marla's great niece Alivia. They had so much fun. They were very good about sharing believe it or not! We had a bon fire where we roasted marshmallows. We didn't stay out there long because it was so cold.

Lillian and Alivia

Lillian and Daddy all bundled up.

Lillian is all ready for bed. She stayed up to ring in the new year. I cannot believe that she didn't go to sleep until 1:00a.m.

We did not get home until 5:00a.m. this morning! I cannot believe we played games for that long. We were laughing at every little thing. We played Taboo and Pictionary. Here is the gang!
Chan, Marla, Michelle (Marla's sister), Whitney (Marla's niece) and Chris
Chan was acting very funny with the Taboo buzzer. He was making it buzz and then acting like he was shaving his face and his underarm. I have never laughed so hard in my life! What a great way to ring in the new year!

Happy New Year!!
